Visit the Douro Valley region for its history, food and wines, landscapes, and its people and then go on a boat cruise at Pinhão, the prettiest part of the valley. over half a dozen sparkling beaches and majestic rock formations of Lagos invite you. Faro with its ninth-century Roman walls, Byzantine watch towers and Moorish wall arches surrounded by fruit, olive and almond orchards is equally tempting. Explore Evora and its megalithic stones, medieval castles, and local wineries.
